Times Group Corp.

Since Times Group Corp. was founded in 1985, it has built a reputation for designing and building high-quality commercial and residential properties in the greater Toronto area. From its beginnings as a custom homebuilder in North York, Times has since established itself as one of the region’s prominent names in commercial and residential real estate development.

According to Times Group Corp. President and Civil Engineer Hashem Ghadaki, operations are split into three branches. “Times Group acquires and prepares lands for a particular project, and once ready, the construction arm, Life Construction breaks ground and oversees the construction to completion,” he says. “Once ready for occupancy, Times Property Management takes over as property manager.”

Times Group Corp.’s development arm works with professional architects and planners to design and market units that satisfy purchasers’ demands for quality, location and value. In high-demand areas such as Richmond Hill and Markham, the results are stunning high-rise communities surrounded by parks, transportation and other amenities.

Life Construction, managed by Ali Mesgarzadeh, focuses on project speed and efficiency to deliver condominiums that meet the highest standards of quality. Finally, at Times Property Management, managers ensure buildings function at peak levels by coordinating maintenance programs with Life Construction engineers. “This approach allows us to control and take responsibility for every aspect of a building – from design, to hard construction to property care and maintenance,” Mesgarzadeh says.

Proven Track Record

Having been built from scratch almost 30 years ago, Times Group Corp. employs approximately 30 people. In the last decade, it has built close to 4,000 residential units in Toronto, Richmond Hill and Markham. Within the downtown core, Times Group recently completed Rezen Condominiums and The 500, high-rise residential towers. In Etobicoke, a new market for Times Group, the glamorous Key West, a 40-storey tower overlooking Lakeshore Boulevard and Lake Ontario, begins occupancy in 2014.

Meanwhile in Richmond Hill, Times Group’s ambitious Eden Park project is now in its second phase. Finally, in Markham, Times Group recently completed Majestic Court, York Region’s first LEED Gold building. The company currently is constructing the first phases of Uptown Markham, a master-planned community spanning 88 acres adjacent to the Rouge River Valley.

Along with award-winning residential projects, Times Group’s project portfolio includes a number of top-tier commercial properties. In addition to Commerce Gate and Jubilee Square in Richmond Hill, Times Group released its 200,000-square-foot commercial flagship Times Square, located on the border of Markham and Richmond Hill. Times Square boasts a design that takes advantage of glowing glass and a towering portico. It includes offices, shops, boutiques and restaurants.

Best is Yet to Come

Together with the Remington Group, Times Group is currently developing what will be known as the crown jewel of Markham – Markham Center. This approximately 300-acre community bordered by Highway 7, Warden Avenue, the 407ETR and Kennedy Road is to become the future urban core of Markham, complete with commercial spaces, high-rise condominiums, parks, the Rouge River and other popular attractions.

“Our Uptown Markham project is going to attract a lot of attention and excitement to Markham Centre,” Ghadaki says. “The community will offer residents comfortable living, exciting entertainment and shopping, as well as stunning natural parks and trails. In fact, 50 acres of parkland and nature have been set aside for this community to ensure it really is a one-of-a-kind experience for residents.”

Currently under construction is phase one of the River Park Condominiums residential development. River Park is comprised of two 20-storey towers and one eight-storey low-rise building. The main building’s façade will include terraces, balconies, decorative railings, pilasters and columns. The entrance and front lobby will feature wood paneling and floor-to-ceiling windows, a fireside lounge and a reception desk with a 24-hour concierge.

As for amenities, River Park has been designed to have a fitness facility complete with a yoga/tai chi studio and swimming pool, stadium seating theatre room, pre-school play area for families and spacious event space for private events and gatherings. Finally, River Park will be LEED certified with Energy Star appliances, state-of-the-art windows, fixtures and ventilators.

Next to River Park on Highway 7, ground also has broken on Markham Uptown Square, a commercial center with more than 150,000 square feet of exciting retail, including Whole Foods Markets, Bed Bath & Beyond, Panera Breads, Five Guys Burgers, Second Cup and of course, the LCBO.

“We expect the residents to really enjoy having first-class shopping at their doorstep,” Ghadaki explains. “With organic farmer’s markets and groceries, open-air patios, beautiful landscaping and adjoining parks, shopping at Markham Uptown Square will truly be a breath of fresh air.”
